Preparation
Always ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry and dirt free to ensure adheshion.
- Degrease any exposed bare timber by wiping with a cloth dampened with methylated spirits.
- Sand back any weathered, loose, or grey timber to a clean and sound surface.
- Fill any surface defects, imperfections, or open joints with an appropriate filler such as .
- Only use non-ferrous screws, nails, and fixings.
- Any non-preservative treated softwood timber should be treated with two coats of .
Application
We recommend always following the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin. Stir thoroughly, it is recommended that a small test area is applied before treating the entire surface to ensure compatibility.
- Do not apply when temperatures are below 8°C and above 25°C.
- Thoroughly stir prior to use and apply with a good quality, long-haired, soft bristle brush.
- Pay special attention to end grain, tops, and bottoms of the door and under cills for full weather protection.
- Apply 2-3 coats, allowing 16-24 hours between coats, treat bare wood with 3 full coats.
- Protect from frost and rain until dry.
